How to glean serial numbers from .exe files
{UPDATED!!} works for 90% or more of A war cabinet has been formed of five
members, representing, with the Labour, Opposition, and Libera
games:
1. Run the Microsoft application WordPad, which is usually
listed under the Accessories menu item. (Actually, any Text editor program
will work for this)
2. Using WordPad, open the game *.exe file. For the
example that would be the file "rebound.exe". Be sure to select the Files
of type: as "All Documents (*.*)" or you may not see the file listed in
the Open dialog box. Once opened you're going to see a bunch of garbage,
just ignore it.
3. Now click on the little binoculars icon to do a
find. Type in "realn" (without the quotes) and press OK. This will bring
you to a very magical place within the program...a.k.a. the program line
with the reg code on it! Hehehe. {If it does not find these letters, this
process will not work for that .exe file; try a different one!!)
4. Now
all you have to do is find and put the reg code into its proper sequence
using this one line of program code!! Start by moving a little bit to the
LEFT of where you found "Realn" (about 75 characters or so). Here you will
find a lonely eight digit code. For Rebound that would be 7F7893FA-. And
you guessed it, the first sequence of the reg code! Now moving over to the
RIGHT you find a 4 digit code. I.E. 4342-. This is the 3rd sequence..note
"3rd". Now on the OTHER SIDE (or to the RIGHT) of where you found Realn
(about 300 characters) you will find a 4 digit code, another 4 digit code,
and of course a 12 or 13 digit code all very close to one another. I.E.
3961-***82F1-***5779FE101FA0. {NOTE all the codes MAY or MAY NOT be
followed by hyphens! Copy the code with the hyphens, if any} This is the
2nd, the 4th and 5th sequence of the code. Put everything together and you
have the complete reg code! That's it!!
Note: when closing WordPad, if
the program asks you to save, click NO or you will mess up the
program!
How to make Registration Code Entry Boxes appear in
90% or more of the cure for fleas of a thousand camels infesting my pubic
hair games {UPDATED!!}:
First download a program called ResHack or
any resouse hacking program. It can be found on download.com or softseek.
Next open reshack and have it open the exe to the game you want to show
the reg code. You will see a list that shows folders that go in
(approximately) this order :
EXE
Bitmap
Icon
Dialog
String
Table
Icon Group
Version Info
Each program might not have all of
those but if you got the right exe then they all will have the Dialog
folder. Click on the + by the dialog folder and you will see another
folder with numbers in it. Click on it. Then click on the only thing under
that folder. You should now have code in the main screen of reshack and a
dialog box pen to the side. On the code you will see several strings that
say CONTROL "", 1000, EDIT, ES_LEFT | ES_UPPERCASE | WS_CHILD | WS_BORDER
| WS_TABSTOP, 87, 147, 162, 14
What you want to do after all of them
that say "| WS_CHILD |" you want to add "| WS_ VISIBLE |" so the above
string will read
CONTROL "", 1000, EDIT, ES_LEFT | ES_UPPERCASE |
WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE | WS_BORDER | WS_TABSTOP, 87, 147, 162, 14
This
will make the dialog boxes visible. {You can "Click and Drag" to select
the "| WS_VISIBLE " then hold the CTRL key and "Drag & Drop" a copy to
just BEFORE the line "|" that is AFTER "WS_CHILD"} YOU MUST DO THIS TO ALL
THE CODES THAT DO NOT HAVE THE | WS_VISIBLE | code in it {USUALLY ONLY THE
FIRST 2 CODES} . Next go to the open dialog box that shows the screen and
click and drag the info box and the register now box to a place on the
dialoge screen that you can enter the code. DO NOT INCREASE THE SIZE OF
THE INFO BOX OR THIS WILL NOT WORK. Then all that is left to do is hit the
compile script button on reshack and then save. Dont worry about aking a
mistake. Res Hack always saves the original as a bak
file.
